Soil Box for soil and water measurement
Réf. DIP-095
Box for measuring the resistivity of soils and liquids, usable on site or in the laboratory. Used with an earth-resistance meter; compaction procedure to ASTM G-57.
Description
The Soil Box measures the resistivity of a soil, water or any other liquid. Its rugged design allows use on site as well as in the laboratory, making it a basic piece of equipment for the cathodic-protection technician and expert.
It is used with an earth-resistance meter capable of measuring high resistance values: we recommend an instrument with a maximum range above 10 kΩ. The outer pins connect to the meter's C1 and C2 terminals, the inner pins to P1 and P2; the resistance read in ohms converts directly to Ω·m.
For soils, compacting the sample in the box is decisive for measurement accuracy and must reproduce the compaction of the sampling site (ASTM G-57 procedure). For liquids, the box must be filled exactly level with the top to ensure measurement repeatability.
