MMO wire anodes

Réf. DIP-091

LIDA® wire anodes: copper-cored titanium wire coated with mixed metal oxide (MMO), Ø1.5 or 3 mm. Very low consumption rate, calculated life 15 to 20 years.

Description

The LIDA® wire anodes consist of a copper and titanium wire with a mixed metal oxide coating. This oxide forms a crystalline electrically conductive coating that activates the titanium and lets it act as an anode. They are made in two diameters: 1.5 and 3.0 mm.

The coating's consumption rate is extremely low (of the order of a few milligrams per year), so the wire diameter remains nearly constant throughout the service life. At the recommended current densities, the calculated life is 15 to 20 years, adjustable by varying the current output per unit length of wire. The LIDA® MMO coating shows very high chemical stability, even at very low pH, and is unaffected by chlorine evolution.
