Anodeflex – MMO linear anode
Réf. DIP-052
MMO linear anode (Ir-Ta titanium wire) combined with a copper cable in a conductive coke sock. Ideal for distributed low-current cathodic protection.
Description
The MMO linear anode is the ideal product when a low-current, evenly distributed cathodic protection system is required. It consists of a high-grade titanium wire (ASTM B348 grade I/II) coated with iridium-tantalum mixed metal oxide, running parallel to an insulated copper cable, the whole housed in a porous non-woven sock filled with conductive coke backfill (SC-3).
The Ir-Ta coating shows high chemical stability in soil or fresh water, where chloride ions are scarce. The basic supply cable is 6 AWG copper insulated with high-molecular-weight polyethylene (HMWPE), able to maintain the required current over long distances without significant longitudinal voltage drop. Other options are available: Kynar/HMWPE, XLPE/PVC or to specification.
