Soft iron anodes

Réf. DIP-128

Pure (soft) iron galvanic anode for protecting copper-alloy tubes against corrosion: heat exchangers, condensers, desalination, power-plant cooling. Blocks from 2 to 14 kg.

Description

Pure (soft) iron anodes are particularly useful against the stress corrosion of copper alloys. They are mainly applied to protecting copper-alloy tubes in heat exchangers, condensers, pumps, fresh-water installations, desalination plants (evaporators, brine heaters) and power-plant cooling systems. The soft-iron block anode is installed bare, in direct contact with the protected surface, like other galvanic anodes.

Its composition is: manganese ≤0.2%, copper ≤0.2%, aluminium ≤0.1%, cadmium ≤0.1%, silicon ≤0.01%, nickel ≤0.001%, phosphorus ≤0.01%, sulphur ≤0.007%, carbon ≤0.004%, the balance being iron. The block range includes references JA-FE-S44 (2.0 kg, 100×100×30 mm), JA-FE-S110 (5.0 kg, 150×150×30 mm), JA-FE-S209 (9.5 kg, 160×160×50 mm) and JA-FE-S309 (14.0 kg, 200×200×50 mm). The anodes are also available in circular and plate shapes (consult us).
