Aluminium-indium anode (Al-Zn-In)
Réf. DIP-126
Sacrificial aluminium-zinc-indium (US-Mil) anode particularly suited to sea water. Potential -1075 mV (Ag/AgCl), capacity 3.8 kg/A·yr, API 5L X52 steel insert.
Description
This galvanic anode is in an aluminium-zinc-indium alloy (US-Mil type), particularly suited to use in sea water. Its chemical composition is: zinc 4.75-5.75%, indium 0.016-0.020%, iron ≤0.09%, silicon 0.08-0.12%, copper ≤0.003%, cadmium ≤0.002%, the balance being aluminium. The alloy density is 2.7 kg/dm³.
Its electrochemical characteristics, in sea water at ambient temperature, are a closed-circuit potential of -1075 mV (Ag/AgCl) and a capacity (practical consumption) of 3.8 kg/A·yr. The core (insert) is in API 5L X52 carbon steel tube (or equivalent, 7.62 mm wall thickness), sand-blasted to ISO 8501-1 grade Sa 2½ before casting.
