Permanent reference electrode Stelth 2

Réf. DIP-044

Borin Stelth 2 permanent reference electrode for buried or in-concrete installation. Cu/CuSO₄, Ag/AgCl or Zn/ZnSO₄; 180 cm² contact, service life ≥30 years.

Description

The Borin Stelth 2 permanent reference electrode is intended for buried installation or embedding in concrete. It comes in three electrochemistries: Cu/CuSO₄ (model SRE-007-CUY, chloride-free electrolyte), Ag/AgCl (SRE-008-SUB, chloride electrolyte) and Zn/ZnSO₄ (SRE-009-ZUR, chloride-free).

It offers a useful service life of at least 30 years and 180 cm² of contact area, i.e. 9 to 35 times more than other electrodes, which makes positioning less critical for measurement accuracy. It does not dry out in desert soil and is unaffected by cyclic soil hydration variations.

The Stelth 2 electrode uses two levels of chloride-ion trapping: a material impregnating the ceramic porous element (patented) and a system removing chlorides that penetrate the solution. It can be taken out of service for extended periods then reintroduced without affecting its accuracy (reactivation in under five minutes).
