Terracotta Reference
Réf. KOR 61100
Electrode measure to be buried in terracotta.
Description
Terracotta Cu/CuSO₄ reference electrode is designed for reliable, long-term potential measurements in cathodic protection systems. The electrode features a robust unglazed terracotta porous container (150 mm diameter x 300 mm length) providing stable and consistent ionic conductivity. Internally, it houses copper sulphate crystals and a 6 mm diameter solid copper rod, ensuring accurate and repeatable readings over extended service periods.
The electrode comes pre-packed in a low-resistance backfill mixture comprising 75% powdered gypsum, 20% bentonite, and 5% sodium sulphate. This composition ensures excellent contact with the surrounding soil, minimizing measurement errors caused by fluctuating soil resistivity.
A cotton bag encases the assembly for easy installation, and a durable 5-meter 6 or 10 mm² XLPE/PVC single-core black cable (other length , type of cable upon request) ensures robust and low-resistance signal transmission. The cable is connected via a straight-through cable connector, securely encapsulated in resin with a protective cardboard plug for reliable waterproofing and mechanical stability.
