Wax Tape 2 – Above-ground petrolatum tape
Réf. DIP-220
Wax-Tape No.2: anti-corrosion tape of microcrystalline waxes on synthetic fabric, forming a coating that hardens and can be painted. For above-ground surfaces, weather- and UV-resistant.
Description
Wax-Tape No.2 is a non-woven, non-knit synthetic fabric impregnated with a blend of microcrystalline waxes, solvents and corrosion inhibitors (without clay fillers), forming a coating that hardens and can be painted.
It is applied on above-ground metal surfaces (pipes or fittings) to prevent corrosion, and proves excellent where blasting or painting are impractical: it resists weather and UV and requires no complementary coating. Application: brush and scrape, apply a thin film of Wax-Tape Primer, then wrap Wax-Tape No.2 with a 2.5 cm overlap between turns, press and shape the tape to avoid any air pockets and ensure intimate contact, and smooth the edges. If the tape is to be painted, let it harden for a few days.
