Wax-Tape No.1: anti-corrosion tape of microcrystalline waxes, plasticisers and corrosion inhibitors on a non-woven synthetic fabric. For buried metal surfaces.
Description
Wax-Tape No.1 is composed of a blend of microcrystalline waxes, plasticisers and corrosion inhibitors embedded in a coated, non-woven, non-knit synthetic fabric, forming a wrap-around tape. It contains no siliceous mineral fillers.
It is used on buried metal surfaces (pipes or fittings) to prevent corrosion. Application: brush and scrape the surface, apply a thin film of Wax-Tape Primer (on a wet, cold or rusty surface, rub and press to push back moisture and ensure adhesion), then wrap Wax-Tape No.1 with a 2.5 cm overlap — slight tension on straight pipes, slack on irregular surfaces. In all cases, press and work the tape to avoid any air pockets, and smooth the edges. The tape requires no drying time.
