Description
The XLPE/PVC/SWA/PVC cable is an armoured power cable compliant with BS 5467 (0.6/1 kV). It consists of a stranded annealed bare copper conductor (IEC 228 class 2), cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, an extruded PVC bedding, mechanical protection by galvanised steel wire armour (aluminium wire for single-core) and a black PVC outer sheath. The maximum conductor temperature is 90 °C.
Conductor identification follows BS 6346 / HD 308 S2, the test voltage is 3 kV and the bending radius 8 × Ø. It is available single-core up to 120 mm² and in multi-core versions, with permissible currents depending on size and laying method (free air or buried).
