Description
The IP.LG2 gauging pig (Ø16" to 48") has two polyurethane cups and a polyurethane end-protection nose; the PU mouldings are made in-house, with exceptional properties and chemical resistance. It is fitted with a gauging disc machined to the customer's instructions, normally to 90-95% of the pipe's bore, in carbon steel or aluminium alloy. It negotiates bends from 1.5D, passes through full-bore and direct-passage valves and full-diameter tees fitted with guide bars. The carbon steel body is coated with two layers of anti-corrosion paint.
The gauging pig is used for pre-commissioning operations: checking the roundness of the manufacturers' pipes, removing construction debris and identifying locations of excessive weld penetration.
