Description
The IP.SG2 gauging pig (Ø1" to 14") has two polyurethane cups and a polyurethane end-protection nose; the PU mouldings are made in-house, with exceptional properties and chemical resistance. It is fitted with a gauging disc machined to the customer's instructions, normally to 90-95% of the pipe's bore, in carbon steel or aluminium alloy. The 1" to 6" sizes negotiate bends from 3D, the 8" to 14" from 1.5D. It passes through full-bore and direct-passage valves and same-diameter tees. The carbon steel body is coated with two layers of anti-corrosion paint.
The gauging pig is used for pre-commissioning operations: checking the roundness of the manufacturers' pipes, removing construction debris and identifying locations of excessive weld penetration.
