GAP-A-LET: spacer (soluble or 316L stainless) for welding socket-weld fittings. Guarantees a 1.6 mm gap without tacking and reduces inspection radiographs.
Description
The GAP-A-LET, soluble or metallic, is used for all socket-weld fitting welding applications. Easy to install, it saves time (no tacking needed on the part) and guarantees a non-zero gap: its 1/16" (1.6 mm) thickness leaves a gap between the tube and the socket-weld fittings.
It also saves money by reducing the number of inspection radiographs needed to check for a gap. The water-soluble version dissolves once the hydrostatic test is done, while the metallic version is in 316L stainless steel. Applications: nuclear, water treatment, refining and petrochemicals, storage, food industry. Non-standard dimensions can also be supplied.
