PCR polarisation cell
Réf. DIP-046
PCR polarisation cell: decouples the cathodic protection DC current while draining continuous or fault AC currents. Protects insulating joints and structures. ATEX zone 2.
Description
Installed between two earths at different DC potentials, the PCR polarisation cell decouples the useful part of the cathodic protection current from alternating currents. It reduces AC interference, even at low levels, while maintaining the structure's cathodic protection level. It is particularly useful in the presence of continuous or fault alternating voltages (an HV cable falling to the ground) and against voltage surges from indirect lightning effects.
It is installed in a box, on flanges (via suitable lugs) or on a post, and can be used in ATEX zone 2. Supplied as standard at -3/+V DC (other range on request), it has a fault-current withstand of 3.7, 5, 10 or 14 kA and a discharge capacity up to 100 kA for lightning surges. It also protects monobloc insulating joints and insulating kits against surges.
