Steel centralizer
Réf. DIP-176
Steel centralizer (with rollers or runners) to insert a pipe into a casing. Preferred over plastic for high temperatures and high pressures on large diameters.
Description
When pipes cannot be laid in an open trench — for example at railway or road crossings, where the casings first pass underground — the steel or roller centralizers allow the carrier pipe to be inserted into the casing sleeve safely and efficiently.
These centralizers ease installation by reducing friction between the pipe and the casing, support the pipe, act as spacers (centred or eccentric placement) and provide electrical isolation of the two tubes, the sliding runner being optionally in plastic. Solid steel constructions are preferable to plastic centralizers for high medium temperatures and high pressures in large-diameter pipes.
